Cambodia has opened a stock exchange!

Cambodia has opened a stock exchange!

Though on its first day there were not any stocks traded, it’s a good step in the right direction for this Asian nation that has had a difficult road to economic stability and we should applaud them for it.

Three state companies; The Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA), Telecom Cambodia and Sihanoukville Autonomous Port are preparing listings on the exchange. Several private companies, including Post Media, owners of The Phnom Penh Post have also signaled their intention to list on the exchange in the near future.

I look forward to seeing them grow over the years and let’s hope in 10 years they are the next hot exchange to be trading on.

China, the world’s 2nd largest economy, continues to be the most important market for companies looking for growth and Chinese companies continue to globalize by investing and selling their products in new markets; what is your company’s strategy for engaging China?
