Citigroup issues
sole-branded credit cards in China

Citigroup announced
that it has issued its first-ever sole-branded credit card in mainland China.
The China Banking Regulatory Commission gave Citigroup approval to issue credit
cards directly to local customers in February 2012. The US-based bank already
has co-branded credit cards with Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, a program
that will end following the launch of Citigroup’s sole-branded product.
