China Guodian to spin-up  wind-power project in Canada

Chinese state-owned power company China Guodian Corp is to begin work on a 100MW wind-power project in the Canadian province of Ontario.  The project is expected to begin operating as soon as 2014. According to  The China Guodian Corp Deputy-General Manager Xie Changjun, when finished, it will be able to supply enough electric power for 30,000 Ontario households.
 In 2011, China Guodian Corp became the first Chinese state-owned power firm to establish itself abroad when it paid CA$ 250 million (US$ 239.5 million) to acquire a wind-power project from Canadian Farm Owned Power (Melancthon) Ltd.

Sinovel shuts down 4 international units



Sinovel shuts down 4 international units
China's largest wind turbine manufacturer, Sinovel Wind Group Co, announced that it will soon close four of its international subsidiaries located in the US, Belgium, Italy, and Canada for a still undisclosed reason. Sinovel made the announcement in a filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The company is set to issue an official statement to the press soon.
