Guodian to spin-up wind-power project in Canada
Chinese state-owned power company China Guodian Corp is to begin work on a 100MW wind-power project in
the Canadian province of Ontario. The project is expected to
begin operating as soon as 2014. According to The China Guodian Corp Deputy-General Manager Xie
Changjun, when finished, it will be able to supply enough electric power for
30,000 Ontario households.
In 2011, China Guodian Corp became the first Chinese
state-owned power firm to establish itself abroad when it paid CA$ 250 million (US$ 239.5 million) to acquire a wind-power project from Canadian Farm Owned Power
(Melancthon) Ltd.

selling their products in new markets; what is your company’s strategy for engaging China?
