China's sovereign wealth fund, China Investment Corp (CIC), is reportedly close to making a hedge fund investment in Europe, where it has been scouting for investments for the past two years. This was announced by Roslyn Zhang, managing director of CIC's Fixed Income and Absolute Return Investments, during the Salt Asia conference. Zhang said CIC has been spending more time looking at Europe and is now getting closer to the point of taking action. Zhang says once CIC has identified a strategy, it will then try to single out 10 established managers for that strategy.
