Sting
from Chinese honey kills Groeb Farms
Michigan
honey-supplier Groeb Farms Inc filed for bankruptcy after it was discovered to
have illegally purchased Chinese honey by way of 3rd countries in order to
circumvent antidumping duties required under US trade regulation since 2001.
Groeb Farms has been placed under Chapter 11 protection in the US Bankruptcy
Court in the city of Detroit. Company executives said that the US$2 million settlement
with regulators necessitated the disposing of all honey coming from China in
its control.
