China gives US$ 3 billion of energy credits for Kyrgyzstan

During a recent state visit by China’s President Xi Jinping to Kyrgzstan, the Chinese government approved credits worth over US$3 billion for energy projects in the central Asian nation.  Kyrgyz Economy Minister Temir Sariyev said that US$ 1.4 billion of credits will be spent on a 225km Kyrgyzstan-China gas pipeline that will transport gas from Turkmenistan to the Chinese city of Kashgar on China’s border with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
