Houston aims to improve ties with China

Houston, the fourth largest US City, is seeking to further expand its ties with China.  Trade between Houston and China totaled US$12.9 billion in 2012. Houston’s Mayor Annise Parker told Xinhua News that the city aims to attract further Chinese investors, a task made easier by a new non-stop flight between Houston and Beijing. Parker said the city is committed to expanding its cooperation and exchanges with China, not only in business, but also in cultural and civic fields.
